Mittu Gopalan obtained her legal qualifications through the Sydney University in 1996. From the year 2000, Mittu commenced working for MBBF and in 2002, she was admitted as an Associate of the firm and commenced working as a Manager of the Milne Berry Berger Freedman offices associated with Dun & Bradstreet. She has been a Partner of MBBF since 2008.

She presently manages the MBBF Kent Street office and her Court experience extends from Local Court to the Supreme Court of New South Wales. She is responsible for the administration of all debt recovery files and her hands on management of matters has resulted in the acquisition of the very industry specific knowledge and she is regarded as a debt recovery expert in her profession.

Mittu has particular expertise in the area of Insolvency and Commercial Litigation. She advises and acts for various clients including listed and unlisted companies, accounting firms, legal firms and financial institutions and provides services which includes Liquidation and winding up proceedings, Administrations and Deed of Company arrangements, Bankruptcy proceedings, Receiverships, Corporate and Commercial Insolvency issues and enforcement proceedings. She also advises clients in respect to insolvent trading, breaches of Director’s duties and also provides advice in respect to Franchise Agreements.

Mittu is also a member of the Institute of Credit Management and a member of the Law Society of New South Wales. She has assisted Law Society of New South Wales by presiding as a Judge at the New South Wales school mock trial competition and is conversant and speaks fluent Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi.
