John Wrangham Milne established the practice in 1925 originally in the Gladesville area and due to its growth, established an office in the central business district. He retired in 1966.

Bruce Huston Berry joined the practice in 1945; at which time the name of the firm changed to J.W Milne & Berry. He retired in 1986.

Victor Berger joined the practice in 1969 and became a partner in 1970 and developed the business and commercial part of the practice.

Harry Freedman became a partner in 1987 and the firm is now called Milne Berry Berger & Freedman.

As the firm continued to grow, Mittu Gopalan became a partner in 2008.

In 2005 Milne Berry Berger & Freedman celebrated 80 years.
