Criminal Law

Guilty or Not Guilty?

In each type of criminal matter, a person charged must make a decision as to whether to plead guilty or not guilty to the offence. Such a decision should not be made lightly, and at Belgrave Lawyers, we'll help you make the right decision. We pride ourselves on working closely with our clients to acheive the optimum result.

Do you have a defence?

Belgrave Lawyers will analyse your case in detail to determine whether any of the available defences can be sucessfully argued in Court. Some of the common defences which can apply in any case include:

1.    Self Defence
2.    Honest and Reasonable Mistake
3.    Intoxication
4.    Duress

Legal Aid

For the financially disadvantaged, Belgrave Lawyers will act for you under Legal Aid, whereby the Legal Aid Commission will pay for our fees. Strict Conditions apply in legally aided matters, and this will be discussed with you at your first consultation.
